The Best Hair for Custom Color

If you are someone who enjoys customizing your hair extensions by doing your own custom permanent coloring at home, your results will depend heavily on the hair that you choose. Use extensions that are already dyed or chemically processed, and you will have disappointing, if not disastrous outcomes.

Your very best option, and first choice, should always be virgin Remy raw hair. This is top-tier hair, collected as ponytails, that has never been chemically processed, and its natural texture has never been changed, not even by steam. It has THE BEST intrinsic integrity, and is least likely to suffer damage after processing. With the proper care, it can last for many years, and costs the most.

Your next best option is unadulterated virgin Remy, made of raw hair, that has only been steam-curled or steam-waved to achieve its texture, yet has never been touched by chemicals. Also known as “celebrity-quality” hair, it’s strong, lasts for years with correct care, and is becoming more affordable, yet is still an investment in quality. (These are the two types of hair we procure for VIP Celebrity Virgin Hair’s luxury collection.)

If you want to use very vibrant, or unusually vivid hues, (pink, green, etc.) it’s best to begin with blonde hair that is naturally blonde and raw. This type of blonde hair has never been bleached to become lighter, and can be expensive to obtain and purchase. It is available in relatively limited quantities from Eastern and Northern Europe (Russia, Norway, etc).

Most better quality blonde extensions that are marketed in the West began as raw hairs (naturally black/brown) of Asian/Southeast Asian origin, that were bleached to become blonde (making it no longer raw). Neither this type of blonde hair, or any darker extensions that have been treated with chemicals should ever be colored or bleached at home! Always consult a professional colorist/stylist to get the best results.

Wishing you much Love & Luxury, and as always, stay glamorous!
